The design concept was born from a desire to redefine the word 'office', shedding its negative connotations and creating a space that fosters collaboration and productivity. The office features open spaces, a gym, a game room, and a bar that serves as the reception area. This innovative approach to workspace design is a testament to Red Bull's commitment to creating a work environment that is not only enjoyable but also conducive to productivity.
One of the unique features of the design is its urban-Mexican aesthetic, a nod to the brand's presence in the country. Two Mexican artists were commissioned to create a setting that fits this theme, providing support to emerging Mexican artists. The workspace in the open area is arranged asymmetrically, creating dynamism and facilitating natural flow and circulation.
The design incorporates elements of color and natural materials, creating an energetic and healthy environment that aligns with the company's ethos. The lighting is designed to modulate temperatures according to activities, creating warm or cold spaces as needed. The use of occupancy sensors in closed spaces also helps reduce electricity consumption.
The design process was not without its challenges. One of the main objectives was to create an open and flexible space that fosters a comfortable environment and encourages team collaboration. The game room, which embodies the company's values, serves as a reminder that the space is meant to be a collaborative space rather than a traditional office - a space to live while you work, rather than a space where you work to live.
The Red Bull office is a shining example of how innovative design can transform traditional workspaces into dynamic, collaborative environments. It's a testament to the power of design in creating spaces that not only meet the functional needs of a company but also align with its values and ethos. The project, which started in January 2015 and was completed in June 2015, is a testament to the power of innovative design in transforming workspaces.
